Extra-Curricular Activities at Marryatville Primary School

At Marryatville Primary School, we are proud to offer a diverse range of extra-curricular activities that inspire, challenge, and engage our students beyond the classroom. These programs are designed to support the development of important life skills, encourage creativity, and strengthen our sense of community.

Some of the opportunities available in 2026 include:

Chess Club – Lunchtime
Run in partnership with Chess Life Academy, our lunchtime Chess Club is open to all students, from beginners to experienced players. Chess Club is a wonderful way for students to develop strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, concentration, and resilience, all while making new friends in a fun and supportive environment.

Young Engineers – Afterschool
Young Engineers is a popular STEM & Robotics Club where students participate in hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics projects each Wednesday afternoon. Using LEGO® and cutting-edge robotics, students use their creativity, build engineering skills, and develop a passion for innovation.

Futureneers – Afterschool
Our new Futureneers club, held each Tuesday in the STEM Room, invites students in Years 2–6 to embark on an exciting journey into coding and robotics. Students learn to design, build and program robots, develop computational thinking and teamwork.

More Than Sport – Afterschool
Students are invited to participate in a variety of sports through term-based programs suited to all ages and skill levels. Each session is designed to build resilience, enhance physical skills, and encourage sportsmanship in a safe, supportive environment. The focus is not only on developing athletic ability, but also on helping children grow as individuals, learning determination, social responsibility, and healthy habits that last a lifetime.

From soccer to multi-sports and activities that support general fitness, More Than Sport provides something for everyone to enjoy, whether they are trying a new sport for the first time or looking to further develop their talents.

After School Sports

After school sports plays a large part in the MPS school community. These sports are entirely run by parent volunteers and to all coaches and assistants. There are a wide range of sporting opportunities for students to participate in that helps develop both their sporting prowess and also their ability to work in teams. Marryatville Primary competes well in all the sports we engage in.
